Garden Bloggers Bloom Day, March 15

Today is Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day - an idea originating from May Dreams Gardens. The idea is to show what's blooming in our gardens by the 15th of each month. This is what's blooming in my garden right now:

The Hellebores which I showed a couple of days ago, are still in bloom. A newcomer in my garden is helleborus argutifolius. Not very spectacular, but still very pretty, I think.

Some bulbs haven't started to bloom yet, others are still blooming. We've had snowdrops for a very long time this year, due to early spring with chilly temperatures.

Crocuses embelllish the garden.....

as do the daffodils Tête-á-tête...

and the pansies.

The mahonia shrub is beautiful with its bronze foliage and yellow flowers....

with vinca minor underneath.

The pulmonaria has opened its first flowers....

...and the tiny, creeping, arabis purpurea is so pretty growing amongst the leaves of the tulips.

Inside our heated verandah, the lovely scent of passiflora caerulea fills the air...

...and a mini rose blooms with tiny, yellow flowers. Unfortunately it's got no scent at all, but you can't get everything, can you?

The white camellia 'Silver Anniversary' continues to flower...

....and finally, the fuchsia 'Lena' has also started to bloom. It's a great time of year!

That's about it for today - I'm now going to enjoy your gardens! /Katarina

Beautiful blooms for March. Seems like your garden is quite a bit ahead of mine. My hellebores are in tight bud still. But we do have crocuses in common.

Thanks for joining us for bloom day!

So many beautiful flowers (most of them wouldn't grow in my garden). And to see a Passiflora growing in sweden, wow!

oh my gosh, I have always thought that Sweden was cold longer than we are but with Camillas blooming amongst other things I think it must not be as cold there as it gets here. I can't grow camilias. All of your flowers are beautiful. It makes me yearn for more blooms in my garden.

Well, Lisa - I am cheating a little: the camellia, rose, passiflora and fuchsia are all grown in our heated verandah. Sweden is quite cold, but maybe not as cold as its reputation! /Katarina

Wonderful colors all around in your garden. I especially like the passion flower.

Well, I've learned something completely new here--I thought also that Sweden would be about the same as our climate, but you're at least a month ahead of us, maybe even six weeks. That's pretty intriguing..and it's nice to enjoy your garden already!

Very nice post Katarina. So many great blooms to share. That fuschia lena is exquisite and I'm quite sure something that wouldn't grow in my Florida garden. Oh well I'll just have to come back here to enjoy it.

Hi.. I found your blog from Carol's May Dreams Garden: Garden Bloggers Bloom Day. I like your Passiflora flower. Very beautiful and unique.
Have a nice day. Goodluck.

Katarina, you have given us a varied and beautiful batch of blooms to enjoy, thanks! You have such a good assortment, bulbs, roses, vines and early spring flowers like the pulmonaria, one of my favorites. Ours is just starting to open here in Southeast Tennessee in the U.S. zone 7. I would not think of Sweden as being close to that zone but it seems you are!

You are an artist with the camera Katarina! All your blooms are glorious. Crocus have the most wonderful shape, don't they? And that bright purple is so lovely.
Your indoor blooms are gorgeous too. What a treat to see all these blooms in your garden. Thank you!
We have bright sunshine and spring in the air here today :) But still cold temps!

Hi there, Katarina what a great post to visit your blog for the first time :-D

So much colour - we have a lot of plants in common at the moment. Ah... but the white camellia 'Silver Anniversary' I do like and might be tempted to get for my garden - thank-you :-D

Mahonia är fin, jag flyttade vår till skugga, hoppas den trivs bättre där.

How nice to see that we have so many blooms in common Katarina! My snowdrops have finished flowering and the crocuses are going over too.

How nice that you have a heated veranda, that way you can be both inside and out at the same time and enjoy your scented passiflora and your beautiful white camellia!

I'm amazed to see so much blooming in Sweden. I'd have assumed spring would be late like it is back home in Maine, but this looks more like England where I'm living now.
